Advocacy & Public Policy Promotion

Advocacy & Public Policy Promotion – The ULRI promotes initiatives that support economic and social stability, empowerment and the preservation of cohesive neighborhoods of blacks, their communities, families and other underserved communities. For example, the ULRI is an active and founding member of the Community & Law Enforcement Relations Committee, birthed from the Providence Police Advisory Board and now meets to discuss, plan and organize forums, trainings and community dialogues to prevent violence and help promote strong and positive community/police relations.(3-6 events held per year servicing over 100 direct and 3,000 indirect individuals and families)
