Position Summary: Co-trainer of the Understanding and Responding to Child Trauma and Secondary Traumatic Stress/officer wellness curriculums for Rhode Island law enforcement. This includes developing content, assisting with local training logistics, and facilitating virtual and in-person training of law enforcement on child trauma and co-response. Family Service of Rhode Island serves as an ongoing resource for law enforcement across the nation interested in becoming trauma-informed, implementing FSRI’s GO TEAM® co-responder best practice model, and partnering with community-based organizations to mitigate the effects of childhood trauma exposure and reduce the risk of revictimization.




Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or human services field preferred. However, FSRI will consider any combination of education, experience, and training.
Two to five years related project management experience required. Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills required.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and work collaboratively as part of a team.
Former law enforcement strongly encouraged to apply.
FSRI greatly values language capacity.
Bilingual skills are compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay.
Multilingual skills are compensated by an additional 8%, above base pay.
This position requires periodic local travel up to 25% time.
Possession of a valid driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, and reliable transportation required.
